My name is Lisa Robertson. Horses are my passion. I have owned many of these beautiful and majestic animals throughout my life and currently own a Tennessee Walker named Flynn, a Spotted Saddle Horse named Cruz, and a very special Standardbred Red Roan Rescue named Jazzman Jim (aka JJ). Over the years, I wished I had kept mane and tail from my former horses in order to have a treasured tangible means to remember them by. The artist in me wondered what might be made with these cherished pieces from our horses. So, I began to research and found out that all kinds of things could be made from horse mane and tail. I headed to the barn and cut from my own horses’ tail and mane and begin to experiment with different designs. About the same time, a couple of my friends had to make the awful decision to end the suffering their horses were experiencing. Needless to say, hearts were broken from the loss of our beloved horses. Out of this brokenness, More Than A Horse Keepsakes was created to help bring healing to us humans and a tangible keepsake from our horses.
I create customized Bracelets, Rings, Necklaces, Key Chains, Tassels, Horse Memorials, Fly Whisks, Ornaments, and Hat Bands. Each customer has a voice in how they would like their keepsake made. I have found that many people love to give these one-of-a kind gifts as surprises to their loved ones for birthday gifts, Christmas gifts and special occasions.
